THE IDEA
live-recording
no digital cutting
live reproduction
THE REASON
Our experiences show: the less you influence a recording-process by cutting the material or working on it through digital techniques and softwares the better the result is.
THE MAKE-OF
Live-performance, two (!) AKG C12 VR valve-microphones, Neumann 400-series analogue-mixer, Apogee AD-8000 analogue- digital- transformer (48 bit 96 Khz): Ca.2,4 Gigabytes (!) of signal for one hour of sound, directly sended to the computer’s motherboard.
Final sending of this signal to the copy-machines for CD (8x slow-copy-speed) and LP (vinyl 180 gr.) to reach the highest audiophile sensibilty.
THE ARTISTIC IDEA
The musician has to perform like in a live-concert, giving the best he can do, feeling that the situation of recording is a deciding moment in his life, making art without any compromise.
JUST TWO VALVES ?
During the phase of founding our business we were directly convinced of the work of Martin Frobeen, recording-producer (music),Cologne, Germany: all of us hear with two ears. He showed us that the old mono-microphones were able to record all instruments from one point within the hall. Today it’s his work to find exactly the very special position for our binary, stereo recording. Sometimes he needs hours for it, but the result is smashing: on Martin’s recordings the feeling is identical to what the listener would feel when experiencing the live act from the optimal acoustic position. And the result can be enjoyed on top High-End-Loudspeakers as well as on normal stereo-players.
It’s the live-feeling that comes through!
